Job Description

We are looking for an analytical and dynamic Production and Material Planner to join our Planning and Logistics team in Gävle. In this key role you will be responsible for scheduling production of coffee in the JDE Gävle factory, the home of the iconic Gevalia brand.

As Production and Material Planner you manage scheduling of the production in Gävle, and you ensure Packaging Materials and Green Coffee on time availability. The Production & Material Planner is part of the local Planning & Logistics and forms a part of the European Supply Chain organization.

You will align production plans with other Supply Chain functions to ensure world class customer service while scheduling sequences for optimal efficiency. You will manage short- and medium-term material supply and work closely with suppliers to ensure lean and steadily performing production lines. Your involvement in product changes, new product launches, and master data updates will help to ensure smooth implementation and operation.

The role also includes monitoring key supply chain KPIs, supporting lean improvement initiatives, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners. You will actively contribute to planning-related projects, including global initiatives, while using systems such as SAP, OMP, and Power BI. The role will also play a key part in Supply Chain projects connected to planning.

Responsibilities / Key activities:

  • Schedule production to meet customer demand and continuously optimize production line performance.
  • Calculate and maintain capacity input and down-time planning and align with Supply Chain and local functions.
  • Ensure material on-time availability with timely call-offs, forecasts and follow-up with suppliers and partners. Defining appropriate replenishment strategies with our suppliers in collaboration with Purchasing team.
  • You are involved in New Product Development or Product Change initiatives, ensuring write off risks are minimized and support with Master Data updates.
  • Manage dynamic cross functional collaboration with stakeholders in all areas of operations both internally and externally such as Supply Chain Planning functions, Material Suppliers, Purchasing and Production.
  • You report and monitor Supply Chain performance, such as Customer Service Level, Production to Plan conformance, Inventory Level and Supplier Delivery Reliability. You will conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • You will work on improvement initiatives on the basis of Lean manufacturing.
  • Backup responsibilities mainly within the Planning and Logistics team.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a university degree or equivalent, preferably within Supply Chain, who brings at least three years of experience in production or material planning or a similar role in a supply chain environment. A strong interest in planning systems is essential, with deep knowledge of SAP and OMP being highly valued. You have solid analytical skills and thrive on working with data-driven systems and processes. Strong communication and collaboration abilities in English are key, as you’ll engage with colleagues across all levels of the organization as well as with external partners. You are able to manage several tasks well, set clear priorities, and bring a structured approach to complex challenges. Experience in FMCG is a plus, and we’re looking for someone with a natural attention to detail, a dynamic team player, and a role model in driving a culture of action, commitment, and responsibility.
