Job Description

Development Analyst is part of the APAC R&D Department and supports product development and adaptation activities across regional and global projects. This entry-level role provides exposure to core R&D processes, including specification creation, sensory testing, trials, and basic project execution, under the guidance of a team lead or manager.

This role collaborates with cross-functional partners within R&D, including Product Development, Packaging, Regulatory, Food Safety & Quality, and Innovation Technology, and works with regional and global stakeholders as required. The Development Analyst takes a hands-on approach to support trials, tastings, and data collection, contributing to projects that support future portfolio growth.

  • Represents R&D in simple Adapt for Excellence projects.
  • Lead simple adaptation products under guidance of the team lead or manger within a defined scope, budget and timeline.
  • Create, update maintain specifications in line with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute sensory tests, including sample preparation, test setup, data collection, and basic analysis.
  • Support R&D sensory testing
  • Support laboratory, pilot plant, and factory trials through hands-on participation, coordination, and documentation.
  • Contribute to complex regional or global projects as a project team member.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Packaging, Regulatory, Food Safety & Quality, and Innovation Technology.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, trial reports, and sensory records in accordance with R&D and quality systems
  • Responsible for operating / maintaining simple equipment and facilities. Assuring good manufacturing practices with respect to maintenance and hygiene.
  • Support and learn Specialist tasks as appropriate including (but not limited to): defining and leading pilot/plant trials, collecting experimental data, writing technical reports, developing prototypes, completing sensory, chemical, physical and analytical assessments of product, defining pack functional spec and selecting materials, completing physical lab testing and requesting/arranging external testing, writing technical reports.
  • Adopts and follows all JDE technical systems and processes
  • Write & perform standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and suggest adjustment of standardized methods for particular products and/or problems.
  • Communicate project progress, findings, and conclusions to stakeholders to ensure awareness and timely actions, with guidance from the team lead or manager.
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned by Team Lead/ Manager

Here's what we're looking for: 

Education:

  • Academic level degree/Higher degree/ Trade qualified in Chemical Engineering/ Food-Science and Nutrition or related fields.

Experience: 

  • < 2 years post-graduation in relevant field.

  • Good verbal, writing and communication skills in English. Fluent in Bahasa Melayu and/or Mandarin is advantageous.

  • Able to taste and describe food/drink
